by | August 12, 2014

Who are Zirtual Assistants? They’re moms, globetrotters, people bored with the 9 to 5, and everyone in between. We like to spotlight ZAs from time to time and want to tell you about a ZA with a love for Hawaii.

Name of the rockstar Zirtual Assistant: Laura H
Where does she live? Texas
When did she start at Zirtual? 2013
What animal would Laura be if she could choose? ‘I would choose to be a Dolphin! Why, you might ask? First of all, I could live year-round in Maui, my favorite place. I could frolic in the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean for all of my days. Imagine how cool that would be. I’d love the carefree lifestyle, hanging out with my friends and having an endless supply of fish to eat! Oh, and I’d be an expert swimmer and whistler, things that I’m not great at right now. I’d give Flipper a run for his money!’

How has adjusting to teleworking been for you? What do you like about it? What would you change? The adjustment was easy for me! I had been a stay-at-home-mom for 16 years, so my home was already my workplace. I love the flexibility of the job and the fact that I can work from home and still be around for my family. It’s the best of both worlds. There’s nothing that I would change about it.

Why should someone get a virtual assistant? A virtual assistant can do so many things that can make life easier for a client. Whether it’s booking travel, researching something or maintaining a busy executive’s calendar, we’re here to take care of all of the details so that our clients can focus on the big picture.

What’s the most unique task you’ve gotten? One of my clients asked me to find him a 10-day silent meditation retreat in an exotic location. I found one for him in Bali – and I took care of all of the travel details for him! It was part of a summer-long journey to Asia, Bali and Israel. So. Much. Fun! 🙂 This same client needed to send a gift to a friend in the states while he was away. Requirements – a basket filled with chocolate and fresh flowers, plus a small Israeli flag and a framed photograph. All to be delivered in a short timeframe. Several calls later, I was able to find a florist willing to go out and purchase the Israeli flag and pick up a photo from the photo center at a local drugstore. The gift was beautiful and within budget – yay!

Anything else you want to say? I can honestly say that I love my job! Every day is different. I’m always learning and growing. The relationships that I have with my clients are priceless. Thank you, Zirtual!
